Tottenham boss Villas-Boas tells Modric to stay out of Bale future

Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas has hit out at Luka Modric over comments he made in relation to Gareth Bale leaving the club, reports Sky Sports.

The Welsh winger has been in scintillating form of late, with a superb assist and fine free-kick against Liverpool, bringing his tally of goals for the season up to six. Bale signed a new four-year deal in the summer, but has been urged by Modric to follow him from White Hart Lane to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Modric told various media outlets that he felt winger Bale should join him at Real Madrid, much to the dismay of Villas-Boas, who feels that Modric should keep out of Bale’s business and concentrate on his own season with a stuttering Real Madrid.

Villas-Boas said: “I think he should focus more on his club than ours. His team finished second (in the group stages) and Modric now has to worry about getting into the quarter finals of the Champions League when the draw comes out. And he has to think about the game against Atletico Madrid this weekend because they are on top of Real.
