Tottenham have set their sights on bringing in an attacking midfielder in the January transfer window, with Alan Dzagoev, Miralem Pjanic and Christian Eriksen all potential options, report the Daily
Tottenham came close to signing Portuguese central midfielder Joao Moutinho on deadline day this August, but despite the player’s representatives working into the night to find an agreement, no deal went ahead.
Tottenham have struggled in recent weeks, losing four of their last five outings, most recently away to rivals Arsenal, leaving them in eighth position in the league.
But according to the report, Chairman Daniel Levy is ready to back manager Andre Villas-Boas to bring in the required players, and in some cases the processes have already begun ahead of January. Alan Dzagoev was widely linked to Spurs in the summer following his positive European Championships display. Meanwhile Pjanic, another 22-year-old, and Ajax creative midfielder Eriksen, has also been suggested as a possible signing.
