Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto has returned to first-team training after more than three months out with an injury, Sky
The Cameroonian international has been first choice for the club the last four seasons, but has played just three times this term after a niggling knee injury flared up in September. The 28 year old is looking to end the year on a high note with a return to action and his comeback at training is proving optimistic for Assou-Ekotto, who is a fans’ favourite at White Hart Lane.
Assou-Ekotto took to his Twitter page to post a message to the Spurs fans about his return to first-team training, which would be a timely boost to the side after their recent run of good form. Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has led his side to fifth in the table and were cruelly beaten by two injury-time goals at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Villas-Boas could also see the return of Scott Parker from injury ahead of Saturday’s home fixture with Swansea City. The England international has not played for the first team this season since suffering an Achilles injury at Euro 2012, but turned out for the reserve and U21s team this week.
