Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists he’s not contemplating resigning from his position, despite a recent run of results that’s left Arsenal 10th in the Premier League.
According Sky Sports, Wenger maintains that he’s still the man to take the Gunners forward, and says he has no intention to quitting. Speaking about rumours that he may end his spell with the North London club after his side’s 2-0 loss to Swansea, Wenger answered: “Not at all. You make your assessment at the end of the season.”
“I know we’ve got unrest everywhere. It’s a good opportunity to stick together and show we’re a strong club”, said the Frenchman, who has been with the Gunners since 1996.
And whilst he can “understand” the fans annoyance at recent results, he’s confident he can lead his side on to a strong finish to the season: “The quality of our game wasn’t there. But I’m in this job to turn it round and I’m confident we will”.
Arsenal have won just one of their last six games, and whilst qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League has been secured, domestically they are falling behind the frontrunners as their league form stutters. Arsenal fans booed their side at the full-time whistle against Swansea, as their seven year wait for silverware continues. Asked if their domestic form bothers him, Wenger replied: “Of course. But I’m not as worried about the places (in the table). We need to get the quality of our game back”.
