Last week saw Wilshere, Carl Jenkinson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs put pen to paper on new contracts with Arsene Wenger’s side, but so far Walcott has held out despite his existing deal expiring at the end of this season. Wilshere admitted he hopes Walcott will follow the lead of his British colleagues and end the speculation surrounding his future.
Wilshere said: “Everybody at the club wants Theo to re-sign. But that is something he has to sort out, it is up to him and the club if they can reach an agreement and I hope they do.
“We’re all great friends, the British boys, we all go out together, have meals together and sit together when we’re on the road, so hopefully he can follow us and sign.”
