Zaha emerges as Tottenham target

Tottenham are reportedly ready to table an offer for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, Tribal Football has reported.

Manchester United have been linked with the youngster, despite Sir Alex Ferguson already saying that United will not be doing any business in the January transfer window. It is thought that if Spurs get their bid on the table early, they may be able to secure the services of the promising winger before bigger clubs come calling. Tottenham currently sit 4th in the Premier League, albeit on goal difference above Everton and West Brom.

Palace would ideally like to hold on to Zaha to continue their push for a return to the Premier League for the first time since the 2004-05 season. However, with the youngster attracting a lot of attention, with Arsene Wenger already saying in November that Zaha was on a list of players that he was “looking at”, a strong bid would likely see Zaha join a Premier League team, with United reportedly his desired destination.

Zaha has been attracting the attention of the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, but Spurs are ready to table an offer in the region of £8 million in an effort to ward off other potential buyers. Zaha has helped Crystal Palace to 4th place in the Championship this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. The 20-year-old has already been called up to the England squad, and it has been widely expected that a move will be made for Zaha when the transfer window opens.
