Arsenal plan cut-price M’Vila deal

Arsenal are set to renew their interest in Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, reports the Daily Star.

The Gunners had been quoted £25m for the France international in the summer, but with the player’s contract expiring at the end of the season, the report suggests M’Vila could be available for as little as £7m in the January transfer window, a significant saving over the period of six months.

The midfielder revealed he would be open to a move if the right club comes along: “I am at Rennes at the moment so let’s see what happens.

“If the club receives a good offer and I like the destination then I will go – there is no doubt about that.”

M’Vila has 22 caps for Les Bleus, although is banned from national team duties until 30th June, 2014, after he was one of five players in the France U21 side broke a curfew and visited a Paris night-club before a European Championship play-off clash earlier in the season.

If M’Vila does join up with Arsenal, he will also be playing alongside fellow national team colleagues Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna, Laurent Koscielny, and Olivier Giroud.
