Manchester City are hopeful of selling Mario Balotelli to Serie A side Milan, but the
Robinho moved to City from Real Madrid in 2008 but failed to settle into life in England, playing little more than 50 times for City in his two year spell at the club, eventually returning on loan to Brazil with first club Santos. Robinho was eventually sold to Milan in August 2010, but Milan are said to be keen to sell the 28-year-old themselves after he fell down the pecking order at the San Siro.
Balotelli, meanwhile, is understood to be up for sale after a year in which he has struggled on the field and clashed with the manager off it, one altercation with Roberto Mancini turning physical and being captured by photographers.
The pair are thought to have put the incident behind them – and Balotelli played for City against Watford in the FA Cup – but City are still holding out hope that Milan are in a position to sign Balotelli, albeit for less than the £20m valuation City had previously put on Balotelli.
Balotelli has been at City since 2010 – the same summer Robinho was sold to Milan – and has scored 30 goals in 89 appearances for the Premier League champions.
