Former England captain David Beckham is to train with Arsenal in an attempt to prove he still has what it takes to play at Premier League level, ESPN
Beckham left LA Galaxy at the end of the MLS season, having helped the Los Angeles club to a second MLS Cup in his final match as a Galaxy player. Since then Beckham’s name has been mentioned in connection with a number of clubs, including some rumoured Premier League suitors.
Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United were both said to be keen to sign the 37-year-old, who recently moved with his family to London from the west coast of the United States.ESPN claims the move led to increased speculation that Beckham was seeking a return to the Premier League.
Beckham has not played his football in England since leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid in 2003. He spent five years in the Spanish capital, winning the league in his final season, before switching to the Galaxy. Beckham also had two loan spells with Milan while a Galaxy player.
