Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas could one day make a return to the Emirates, according to The
Fabregas was adored during his eight year stint in North London, during which he won an FA Cup winner’s medal in 2005. Unfortunately, Premier League titles proved hard to come by for the Spaniard, who departed in 2011 for his boyhood club in Catalonia.
Wenger said: “I’m not convinced that he will not one day come back here, because he is a real Arsenal man. He loves Arsenal, he watches every Arsenal game. But of course, Barcelona was his home town and you had to accept that that would come into it, especially with their club having the best team in the world at that time.”
The Gunners manager did, however, concede that a heartwarming reunion with Fabregas and the Arsenal faithful is not likely to happen in the immediate future. The 25-year-old is currently thriving under coach Tito Vilanova, earning the reputation of being one of La Liga’s most dynamic and innovative attacking midfielders.
The Frenchman continued: “In the next two to three years certainly not – but maybe later.”
