The Football League will investigate the details of the proposed loan deal that would see Wilfried Zaha return to Crystal Palace if the forward joins Manchester United this month, the
Part of United’s bid is said to include the provision that Zaha would remain with the Championship team for the rest of the season as Ian Holloway attempts to take the Eagles to the Premier League. Palace are currently fourth in the second tier, in the play-off zone, two points short of automatic promotion.
United are expected to pay Palace £15m for Zaha, with the England international then returning to Selhurst Park on a loan deal until the end of the season, with the Palace chairman, Steve Parish, guaranteeing to supporters that Zaha would see out the current campaign with the club.
The Football League has however attempted to tighten up such transfers and would require the exact details of the deal to be clarified before giving it the go-ahead. Palace and United are to hold further talks over the transfer on Wednesday, the Mirror adds, with the possibility that the Premier League side agree to loan more players to the promotion hopefuls.
