The agent of Frank Lampard has denied giving an interview in which he confirmed that the England midfielder will leave Chelsea when his contract expires at the end of the current season, the
Steve Kutner was reported to have told the Italian media that Lampard would be plying his trade for a new club next season. Kutner was also said to have stressed that while Lampard is currently focused on achieving further success with Chelsea, he will be on the move when his contract comes to an end.
“At this moment, Lampard is exclusively thinking about the present, in other words Chelsea. As for the future, the only certainty is that he will change team at the end of the season,” Kutner was quoted as saying.
In the interview, which Kutner denies giving, the possibility of Lampard moving to Serie A was also discussed and not ruled out by the representative. The 34-year-old Lampard was linked recently with a switch to either Lazio or Inter. Lazio are currently second in the Italian top flight, eight points behind leaders Juventus, with Inter fourth, a point behind the Rome club.
Kutner has since told BBC radio that he: “…hasn’t spoken to anybody about Lampard’s future and hasn’t given any interview about it.”
