Mario Balotelli will not be responding to criticism levelled at him by Milan owner and politician Silvio Berlusconi, according to the agent of the Manchester City striker.
Balotelli is however understood to want to remain at Premier League champions City despite a recent scuffle on the training ground with manager Roberto Mancini, and as part of that desire has instructed his agent, Mino Raiola, to avoid commenting too strongly in reply to Berlusconi.
Raiola said: “ I talked with Mario and he was sorry to hear the words of Berlusconi. But Balotelli has asked me to be quiet because he appreciates that he is loved by the president at City.
“I know him well and he has a big heart. Berlusconi is free to have any opinion he wants, but it seems strange that he wishes to pass judgement on a person he doesn’t know anything about.”
Balotelli has been at the Etihad Stadium since his 2010 move from Inter, scoring 30 goals in 79 appearances and helping the team to success in last season’s league and, a year earlier, the FA Cup.
