After successfully overcoming lower league opposition in the form of Mansfield in round three, Liverpool now take on League 1 outfit Oldham as they search for their first success in the FA Cup since 2006.
The Reds’ form has been good of late, with four wins in their last five matches in all competitions, including a sparkling showing in the 5-0 destruction of Norwich at Anfield last week. Oldham meanwhile, last reached the latter stages of the competition with semi final appearances in 1990 and 1994.
The Latics will be without influential midfielder Dean Furman, who is away at the Africa Cup of Nations with South Africa, with James Wesolowski, a reported lifelong Liverpool man set to take his place in the starting XI.
Brendan Rodgers is expected to select a strong side that could include both Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, who has scored three goals in his first three appearances since moving to Anfield from Chelsea earlier this month.
Goalkeeper Brad Jones should come with Pepe Reina missing with a thigh problem, while Glen Johnson is doubtful with a hamstring problem. Striker Fabio Borini may be handed his first start since September after making his comeback from a broken foot against Norwich last week.
