Pardew wants reinvigorated Newcastle

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew hopes that the club’s new signings can help the Magpies kick-start their ailing season and help the club escape relegation, reports BBC Sport.

The Toon Army have added five Frenchmen to their squad during the winter transfer window, and Pardew hopes that the added depth and quality will be enough to ensure top-flight survival.

Mathieu Debuchy arrived from Lille at the turn of the year for a reported fee of £5.5m, and fellow French internationals Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Moussa Sissoko were signed from Montpellier (£6.7m) and Toulouse (undisclosed fee) respectively.
