Chelsea right-back Cesar Azpilicueta has thanked Blues captain John Terry for helping him assimilate into life at Stamford Bridge, adding that it has helped improve his performances on the pitch too, according to ESPN.
While also crediting his understanding with Benitez, Azpilicueta added that Terry’s leadership has helped him improve as a player and also understand what is expected of him as a member of the Chelsea team.
Azpilicueta said: “Terry is a bit scary at first. His temper on the field can be frightening, but he is a very good guy. He helps the new players a lot and on the field he gives me advice, corrects me. He is a leader. I respect him a lot.”
He added that David Luiz has been helpful too, but in a different way, and that since his surname proved unpronounceable to his new teammates, he was christened “Dave” after a character from an unmentioned television programme.
