Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa is back in full training, two months after picking up a hamstring injury, says Sky
The Frenchman hasn’t played for the Magpies since the Premier League trip to Fulham in early December but is now set to return – giving manager Alan Pardew a fully fit squad to pick from.
Boss Pardew said: “We are looking well and Hatem Ben Arfa has come back. I am sure our fans are looking forward to hearing that and we had our full squad training which is great.”
Newcastle have struggled with injuries this season and, as a result, have found reaching last year’s level of performance tough. They currently sit in 16th position in the Premier League and Ben Arfa’s return will be a boost.
But the French international has been the subject of fierce transfer speculation in recent weeks, with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believed to be a keen admirer of the ex-Marseille man.
Newcastle travel to Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv for the second leg of their Europa League last-32 clash on Thursday.
