Real Madrid want to match Bale offers

Real Madrid have asked Tottenham Hotspur for the first option on in-demand winger Gareth Bale, says the Sunday Telegraph.

Bale has been in dazzling form this season, which has sparked Real president Florentino Perez to ask Spurs for the chance to match a transfer offer from any other club.

It is believed that Los Blancos are considering a bid of around £50million for the Welshman, who has 13 Premier League goals so far this season.

The Spanish champions initially enquired about the availability of Bale when in talks over the transfer of midfielder Luka Modric from Tottenham last summer, but now it appears that they are prepared to formalise their interest.

No club will have a clear run at the former Southampton player though, with Bayern Munich also rumoured to be interested in securing his services – particularly if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.
