But Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to gazump any potential bid from his Premier League rivals, with the 21-year-old expected to cost around £10m.
Wanyama, who can also provide cover in central defence, has one year left on his contract at the Scottish Premier League champions – who, with that in mind, are set to cash in.
