Man City’s Tevez is unplayable, says Lescott

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has branded Carlos Tevez as ‘unplayable’ after his weekend hat-trick against Barnsley in the FA Cup, according to Sky Sports.

The Argentinian striker scored three times and created the two other goals in City’s comfortable 5-0 win over the Championship side, helping the Premier League champions into the semi-finals of the competition.

And Lescott, who also featured in the win, believes Tevez can be impossible to deal with when on top form.

Lescott said: “His performance doesn’t surprise me, to be honest. He has been our most consistent player since I joined the club.

In his first two years he carried the team on his back. We won a lot of games by one goal, and that was down to Carlos – when he plays like that he is unplayable.

The 29-year-old’s three-goal haul came only 48 hours after he was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified, having been banned from getting behind the wheel in January.

He could face a prison sentence of up to six months if charged with the offence.
