Jose Mourinho will return as Chelsea manager in the summer, and plans to bring Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo with him from the Bernabeu to Stamford Bridge, according to Eurosport.
With interim manager Rafael Benitez looking set to leave the Blues when his contract expires in the summer, Mourinho has hinted that he may return to pastures past in his next managerial move.
Eurosport also cites newspaper the The Sunday Express, who claim that the reason Benitez is moving on is because “the Mourinho deal is all but signed.”
Mourinho appears all too aware that former Man United winger Ronaldo is unsettled in Spain, and the paper claims that the Portuguese manager will immediately test the water with a £60m bid for the 28-year-old.
The Mail On Sunday, however, report that while Mourinho is a candidate he sits alongside Everton boss David Moyes at the top of Roman Abramovich’s list of candidates, with Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini – himself a former Real Madrid boss – seen as an outside bet.
