Tottenham are eying up the capture of Fiorentina’s former West Brom midfielder Borja Valero, reports The
Scouts from the Spurs camp are thought to have been monitoring the progress of the 28-year-old, and the club could be set to make a move in the summer.
Valero joined the Baggies on a four year contract in 2008, but left the club when they were relegated to the Championship at the end of the same season.
He has since had spells at Mallorca – which was his second at the club – and Villareal before joining Fiorentina at the start of the current campaign.
He has been impressive during his stint in Serie A, and Spurs are keen to add him to their ranks. With the North London club still vying for a Champions League spot, Villas-Boas could have a good chance of landing his man when the transfer window reopens.
Valero, who began his career with Real Madrid, has made 29 appearances for Fiorentina, netting one goal.
