Chelsea travel to Romania to face top of the league Steaua Bucharest, looking to at least take some important away goals back to Stamford Bridge for the second leg.
The Blues come into the clash on the back of two successive wins, over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, and West Brom in the league last weekend. But Rafa Benitez will be hoping for a win to keep the pressure off his shoulders, after an inconsistent campaign so far for Chelsea that sees them having won just seven from the last 15.
Steaua meanwhile defeated Ajax on penalties in the last round, which will no doubt serve as a warning to the London side.
For Chelsea, Fernando Torres is set to replace Demba Ba up-front, with the former Newcastle man ineligible. Ramires and Victor Moses both remain at home, with Jon Obi Mikel and Frank Lampard coming into the side – Yossi Benayoun will replace Juan Mata, and John Terry starts alongside David Luiz in the centre of defence.
Steaua are without 22-year-old attacker Stefan Nikolic.
