Yaya Toure wants Manchester City to offer him a new contract immediately or he will push for a move away from the Premier League champions this summer, his agent has said, according to the
Toure and City have thus far failed to agree terms on an extended deal and the Ivory Coast international’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, has said that unless fresh terms are signed by Saturday, the midfielder will leave the club at the end of the season.
“I do not feel he will stay at City,” Seluk said. “If he signs a contract in the next four days, OK. If not, we will not wait any longer. We will say, ‘Thank you. OK, Yaya will leave in May.’”
Seluk added that his client is not unhappy because of the money on offer, but rather feels unappreciated and disrespected at the club. “ This is not about money. He wants to leave for many reasons. He does not feel the respect of the staff,” Seluk said.
“It’s a pity City pay big money, but do not understand that human relations mean more than anything. Yaya feels the club do not want him.
“Yaya is extremely well paid at City and is the first to recognise that. But he is the No. 1 in the world in his position and can get the same money elsewhere. He has been ready to sign for six months on the same money.”
Toure has been at the Etihad Stadium since a 2010 move from Barcelona, and has won the FA Cup and Premier League in his time under Roberto Mancini. Toure has scored 27 goals for City in 124 appearances.
