Arsene Wenger could be set for a huge transfer raid on Germany in the summer, with three Bundesliga stars linked with a move to the Emirates, reports The
Borussia Dortmund pair Robert Lewandowski and Mario Goetze are joined on the Frenchman’s wishlist by Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender.
Wenger is armed with a £70m war chest for the trio of transfers, and is known to be a long-term admirer of Goetze, who is in Germany’s senior international squad at 20-years-old.
Polish international Lewandowski is also being courted by the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, but Wenger remains keen to land the 24-year-old ahead of his rivals.
He could set the Gunners back £25m, but with the North London club keen to strengthen their squad in the summer, particularly highlighted by the news that Abou Diaby is to be out until next year, Wenger is likely to do everything he can to get his man.
The Mirror also reports that another target on Wenger’s radar is 24-year-old Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalans, who it is thought could cost the club around £8.5m.
