Upton Park will play host to a clash between two sides that appear to have more than exceeded their targets in the Premier League this season. West Ham have all but secured their top flight status and are eying up a potential top-half finish while Steve Clarke, a former Hammers employee, has impressed everyone in his first season in charge at West Brom, leading the Baggies to in all likelihood their best ever Premier League finish.
Sam Allardyce will have skipper Kevin Nolan available for selection again after the goalscoring midfielder recovered from his broken toe while Joe Cole and George McCartney are also fit after shaking off hamstring and knee problems respectively. Those returns will cover the recurring absence of Mark Noble due to a shoulder injury.
The Baggies should have Steven Reid available after the full-back missed the last two matches with a groin problem but key midfielder James Morrison is doubtful with a hamstring injury that kept him out of Scotland’s World Cup qualifiers.
Up front, doubts remain over the fitness of Shane Long but West Brom will be able to call upon the in-form Romelu Lukaku as they look to move above Liverpool, who currently lie a point and a place above them in the table in seventh.
