Manchester United’s Wilfried Zaha says that he couldn’t turn down the chance to join the club in January – despite being a massive Arsenal supporter, according to ESPN.co.uk.
But the England international, who is back on loan at former employers Crystal Palace until the summer, has no regrets over his decision.
Zaha said: “It was always Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal in terms of where I could be going. I have always supported Arsenal. I did not expect United to come in but they did. Arsenal are a good team but United are one of the best in the world.
“I am just anxious and excited. I cannot wait. It will be something different. When I walk into that dressing room at United, I do not know what I will feel. I will keep my head down as I am there to play football.”
Zaha grabbed the attention of the Premier League’s leading clubs with a series of eye-catching displays for Palace in the Championship.
He has made 44 appearances in all competitions for Ian Holloway’s men this season, scoring six times in the process.
