Jack Wilshere looks set to miss England’s international games during the summer after revealing that he could be set to undergo surgery to solve niggling issues with the ankle injury which kept him out of action for over a year, reports The
Wilshere only recently returned from the long-term injury and has featured several times in Arsene Wenger’s squad, both as a starter and a substitute role, but needs further surgery to fully clear up the issue.
The operation would entail replacing a pin which was put in his ankle during the original surgery in September 2011.
It is believed that even if the surgery is not required, manager Wenger will likely ask Roy Hodgson to give Wilshere a break during the summer in order to let the player rest and giving time for the problem to heal naturally, allowing time to prepare for next season.
