Man City have joined the list of Premier League clubs interested in bringing wonderkid Rodney Kongolo to the Premier League, reports The
The 15-year-old has excited several clubs in the England top flight with his mixture of size and skill, and it is thought that a transfer could cost his new employers only £1.5m.
City boss Roberto Mancini sent scouts to watch Kongolo play for the Netherlands’ youth team in a recent friendly against Belgium, and Liverpool are also thought to have sent representatives to the game to keep tabs on Kongolo’s performance.
The Feyenoord star, who stands at 6ft 1in tall, turns 16 in 2014 – and it is thought that City, Liverpool as well as rivals Man United and other Premier League clubs are waiting to pounce in the hopes of convincing the young star that his future lies with them.
Kongolo is the middle born of three brothers – his older brother Terence is a 19-year-old who made his debut for Feyenoord in the 2011-12 season, and has since made six appearances for the club. He also has a younger brother, Fidel.
