The newspaper claims that Spurs want competition and cover for Aaron Lennon, who has endured an injury-hit campaign, and left Tottenham short in wide areas during his long absences. Ince is capable of playing on either flank and would cost £6.5m for whichever club wins the fight for his signature.
Liverpool attempted to re-sign Ince in the January transfer window but could not agree a fee with the Championship club, having originally let him leave Anfield for Bloomfield Road in 2011. Spurs however will push for a deal to be completed quickly, the Mirror adds, by making Blackpool an offer they cannot afford to turn down.
The 21-year-old – an England U-21 international – was named in this season’s Championship team of the year for his form with the Seasiders, and to date has netted 18 goals in 43 league games for the club this season, having scored six in 33 the previous year.
