Midfielder Yaya Toure is set to sign a new four-year deal at Manchester City, according to ESPN.
But after discussions with City, Toure appears to have decided to put pen to paper on a deal rumoured to be worth £220,000-a-week to the Premier League champions.
The 29-year-old has secured his place as one of Roberto Mancini’s star players in recent years since signing from Barcelona for around £24m in July 2010.
He helped City win their first trophy in 35 years in his first season at the club, scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final, before taking a key role in the club’s title win last season.
This season, Toure has featured 33 times and scored eight goals for City but hasn’t been able to keep the club in touch with rivals Manchester United, who are 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
