The Express has reported that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is already planning how to spend this summer’s transfer budget, with a move for FC Schalke 04’s Julian Draxler ready to be made.
The 19-year-old Draxler’s impressive form has earned him four caps for Germany and has seen him emerge as one of the most sought after young midfielders in Europe, with some of the continent’s top sides rumoured to be interested.
Arsenal have now gone eight years without winning a trophy and Wenger is under pressure to spend money in order to add to his squad in a bid to bring silverware to the Emirates trophy cabinet, and he is keen to move quickly in order to beat off the competition in the race for the youngster’s signature.
The Frenchman is ready to pay larger sums than he is used to doing if it means securing his targets early and it is believed that £15m would be an acceptable fee for the German club and is an amount that Wenger sees as a worthy investment.
