Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard has added his backing to the possible return of Jose Mourinho as the club’s manager, saying he’d love to play under him, according to Sky
The Portuguese boss looks set to leave Real Madrid this summer, having flirted with the Blues in the media over the past few months. And Hazard is ready to welcome Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge, should he be chosen as the man to replace interim manager Rafael Benitez.
Hazard said: “I would like him [Mourinho] to come here. Mourinho is the best coach in the world. Everyone is talking about him here. He is not God, but almost.
“The fans and the players love him. I wait and see. First I am thinking of finishing the season, then going for a holiday. I will get any news in the press.”
Real appear to have set the wheels of Mourinho’s departure in motion after having an official approach for Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti turned down by the Ligue 1 champions.
But Benitez’s reign is not over yet, with Chelsea preparing for the Europa League final against Benfica on Wednesday – though Belgian playmaker Hazard could miss out due to a hamstring injury.
