Liverpool enter race for Remy

Liverpool could turn to Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy as they seek cover for the suspended Luis Suarez, according to the Daily Express.

The Reds will be without Suarez for the first six matches of next season after the Uruguayan received a ten-match ban for biting the arm of Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.

And Brendan Rodgers is believed to be lining up a move for Remy, who is likely to be seeking a move away from Loftus Road with QPR playing Championship football next year.

Despite the potential recruitment of Remy, Liverpool remain confident that they can rebuff any approaches they receive for Suarez’s services – with Bayern Munich touted as potential suitors.

The signing of Daniel Sturridge in January, along with the return from injury of Fabio Borini, has eased Rodgers’ side’s attacking troubles but he remains keen to add to his frontman options.

Andy Carroll is due to return from his loan spell at West Ham United at the end of the season but Liverpool are keen to sell if a club stumps up his £17million price tag.
