Liverpool forward Borini included in Italy U-21s

Sky Sports has revealed that Liverpool forward Fabio Borini has been chosen to take part in Italy’s Under-21 squad for this summer’s European Championship campaign.

Borini is one five players in the squad with senior first-team experience. The Italian made five starting and eight substitute appearances in his debut Premier League season at Anfield since joining the club from Roma last summer. And Italy Under-21 coach Devis Mangia, who included Borini in his initial 28-man squad, has kept the forward in the 23-man party which will set out to Israel for the 8-team tournament finals.

The Azzurrini have been drawn in Group A along with Stuart Pearce’s England, as well as Norway and hosts Israel. The Italians’ campaign will begin against England in Tel Aviv a week on Wednesday, before they take on the Israelis three days later, ahead of finishing their group campaign against the Norwegians.
