Man City v West Brom – Match preview and team news

In a match that has very little riding on it for both sides, Roberto Mancini may look to rotate his Manchester City squad as he steps up his preparation for Saturday’s FA Cup final date with Wigan, a match that could at least bring some success to a season that has disappointed so many at the Etihad Stadium.

The Italian will certainly look for an improvement on the display that could only muster a goalless draw at Swansea at the weekend but he can at least bank on one of the most formidable home records in the country, with only nine points dropped in front of their home fans in the whole of this season so far.

Yaya Toure was taken off as a precaution in South Wales and so he may miss out, while Scott Sinclair will almost certainly be absent after undergoing treatment on a blood clot in his shoulder.

Elsewhere, the likes of Aleksandr Kolarov, Javi Garcia, Jack Rodwell, Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez, Maicon and Micah Richards may all feature.

West Brom remain safely in the top half though head coach Steve Clarke will just want his side to regain a little momentum after taking only one win from their last six Premier League outings.

The Baggies will be missing striker Marc-Antoine Fortune due to suspension while there are also doubts over Goran Popov and Chris Brunt who have calf and knee injuries respectively.
