Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has stated to Sky
The 18-year-old Brazilian moved to the Italian capital from Corinthians last year, with whom he was a Copa Libertadores winner. And since his move Marquinhos has soon established himself as a regular Serie A player. He has made 25 league appearances this season for the three-time Italian Serie A champions and has also gained a growing reputation as one of the top young defenders in Italian football.
The Etihad side have been linked with a possible move for the Brazilian this summer, and Mancini has emphasised his liking for the young defender but does not think that Roma would be prepared to part company with Marquinhos.
“Marquinhos I like a lot, but I do not think that Rome is willing to sell it. With just two signings next year the Giallorossi can win the Scudetto.”
