Barcelona vice-president Carles Vilarrubi is delighted to see one of the club’s most vocal critics leave Spanish shores.
Not only is he glad to wave goodbye to Jose Mourinho, he claims his expected reunion with Chelsea will be an absolute disaster, says ESPN.
“If he behaves like he did in Spain it will only be an unhappy relationship, a disaster, and at his age he is not going to change.”
Mourinho might have been at Barcelona as an interpreter to the great Sir Bobby Robson, then on the coaching team in Louis van Gaal’s reign, but it is fair to say that there is no love lost between the Portuguese coach and the Catalans.
It is a feud that runs back to his first spell at Chelsea and the tempestuous clashes in the Champions League round of 16 back in 2005.
Vilarrubi went on to say: “My position is not because he was the coach of a rival, but because of who he is and what he did.
“His three years in Spain, he only creates disagreements, arguments, there is nothing positive he brings.
“Apart from his aggression to the coach of Barca, the ambience he creates everywhere he goes, the relations with the players, with the press are absolutely terrible. I am happy that he is leaving and so is everyone in Spanish football.”
Mourinho should be confirmed as returning to Chelsea in the next few days. The 2012-13 campaign is his first without any silverware as a manager.
