QPR v Newcastle – Match preview and team news

Newcastle travel to already relegated Queens Park Rangers, looking to get the three points that would assure them of playing in the Premier League next season.

QPR have gone seven games without a victory, form matching their position at the foot of the table. They do however have a marginally better home record, having lost four from their last eight at Loftus Road.

Newcastle have been dragged into the relegation fight, and currently sit in 17th position, just three points above Wigan, and tied with Sunderland and Norwich on 38 points. A win today would more than likely assure them of safety.

The Magpies are set to welcome back Mathieu Debuchy from suspension, while Mark Williamson is to replace Steven Taylor in defence. Davide Santon and Sylvain Marveaux have returned for contention.

QPR meanwhile are without Chris Samba, who has picked up a knee injury, but there are no new injury worries for manager Harry Redknapp.
