A transfer fee would still have to be agreed between the parties, however, and while Real are of the understanding that Suarez can leave Anfield if an offer of £40m is made, they are not yet willing to make such a bid.
Instead, the La Liga club will offer Liverpool between £20m and £25m, with Jose Callejon also part of the deal. Callejon, 26, began his career in the Real Madrid B team before moving to Espanyol, impressing enough to be brought back to the Santiago Bernabeu. But he has struggled to nail down a place in the Madrid team.
The Mirror adds however that Madrid have yet to make an offer of any kind to Liverpool for Suarez, but are expected to do so by Monday. Suarez is also expected to tell Liverpool he wishes to join Madrid in an attempt to force the Merseyside club into a sale.
Suarez has previously been quoted as saying he would struggle to reject an offer from Madrid and placed the blame for his unhappiness in England on the media and their coverage of him.
The former Ajax captain is currently in the middle of a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, having previously served an eight-game ban for racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra. Suarez was also involved in an incident with Fulham supporters, where he made an offensive gesture in their direction.
