Suarez hints at Liverpool exit

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has admitted he would be willing to listen should an offer come in from Real Madrid, reports the BBC.

The Uruguay forward, who has netted 23 goals in 33 league matches for the Reds in the season just past, also cited his treatment at the hands of the British media as part of the reason for his willingness to leave Anfield.

Talking to Radio Sport 890 in his home country, the 26-year-old revealed:

“I’m happy at Liverpool thanks to the fans. I have committed an error. I am human. But [the media have] talked about me in ways they shouldn’t have… I am tired of it. My daughter and my wife have suffered. I’m not prepared to continue suffering at the hands of the English journalists.”

On the subject of reported interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, Suarez admitted that “It would be very difficult to say no to Real Madrid.”

The news will come as a blow to Liverpool, who have supported the striker through a number of high-profile moments of controversy since his £22.7m signing from Ajax.

Following his ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, Liverpool went on a four game unbeaten run, earning 10 points from a possible 12.
