Swansea City frontman Michu has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury, says Sky
The Swans’ top scorer picked up the knock in Saturday’s stalemate with Manchester City and is likely to miss the final three matches of the Premier League season.
But his manager Michael Laudrup says the injury isn’t serious and that he hopes to have cover for his star man in place for the start of the next campaign.
Laudrup said: “It’s not very serious but it is a hamstring so it will probably be goodbye for this season. There are only two weeks left but I think his season is over.”
“I don’t want to name any names right now but I don’t think you have to be a rocket scientist to know what we could need.”
Michu has been touted as the signing of the season, after scoring 17 goals in his first Premier League campaign – a staggering 39% of the Swans’ total tally.
The 27-year-old signed for the club from Rayo Vallecano in the summer for a fee of just £2million.
