Moutinho has been a long-standing target of Tottenham Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas and was close to a move to White Hart Lane last summer, only for Porto president Jorge Pinto da Costa to call off the deal when it was at an advanced stage.
Rodriguez and Moutinho now look set to move to newly-promoted Monaco, the club funded by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, with the double swoop from Porto expected to cost in the region of £60m. And Moutinho and Rodriguez could be joined by another of Europe’s most in-demand names, Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, another player with Porto connections – having played for the club before heading to La Liga.
