Arsenal face competition for Celtic striker Wanyama

Arsenal face fresh competition from Southampton and Cardiff for the signature of Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama.

The 21-year-old has been attracting a lot of attention so far this summer with the Gunners, Stoke City, Liverpool and Galatasaray being just a few clubs supposedly battling it out for the Kenyan’s services.

The main winners in this transfer saga though look to be Scottish outfit Celtic, who are willing to sell, and so could end up relinquishing the player to the highest bidders.

Offers in excess of £10m look to be the starting block for the highly-rated midfield powerhouse, however the Daily Star are claiming that Wales international Aaron Ramsey has pleaded with Wanyama to join him at the Emirates.

The in demand Kenyan international signed for The Bhoys in the summer of 2011, from Belgian side Beerschot and has gone on to make 61 appearances for the SPL champions scoring 10 goals. He’s also made 25 international appearances for his country, but has only found the net once.
