Arsenal line-up move for Zagreb defender

Arsenal are preparing a £6m bid for teenage Dinamo Zagreb defender Tin Jedvaj. The Croatian has already trained with his national team and the London Evening Standard is claiming that the 17-year-old is the highest rated player to come out of the country since Luka Modric.

The youngster is now attracting attention from not only the Gunners but from across Europe too, with Roma also interested.

Arsene Wenger is in pole position to sign the exciting defender as they are willing to pay more than the initial £5m offered by Roma. The Italian outfit subsequently saw their bid turned down by Zagreb, and now the Gunners look to have moved ahead with their improved bid.

Jedvaj made 13 appearances for Zagreb last season scoring his only goal on debut, he has also played internationally with the Croatian Under 17’s and 19’s. However, one thing that may put Arsenal fans off the deal, is the fact that the teenager has just one year of senior football under his belt, so could £6m be too much of a gamble.
