Arsenal target nears Lyon deal

Arsenal summer target, Sochaux’s Sebastien Corchia, looks set to complete a move to Ligue 1 rivals Lyon in the coming days, as long as a deal can be pushed through in the near future.

Goal.com are reporting that Lyon Chairman, Jean-Michel Aulas, believes time is running out on the deal as the Lyon president wanted the deal wrapped up by Monday, otherwise his club would move on to other targets.

Aulas revealed via Twitter that Lyon were attempting to sign the highly rated French full-back, however he also stated that his club were tracking other players as backup plans if the deal hadn’t been accepted by Monday.

“We have made an offer to Sochaux: deadline Monday. There is also another player we are tracking just in case,” said Aulas.

The 22-year-old’s agent Francois Gilles has also revealed that the player would prefer a move to Lyon rather than the Gunners. “Sebastien has chosen,” he told reporters. “Lyon is the future, this is what he wants [and] is what he has planned.” Corchia has made 67 appearances for Sochaux since moving from Le Mans in 2011.
