Barcelona and Bayern Munich considering bids for Arsenal defender Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny is wanted by both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the Daily Mirror has reported, with Arsenal facing a struggle to retain the France international centre-back.

Koscielny is valued at around £15m and his agent has confirmed his client is being considered by each of the European heavyweights. Stephane Courbois said: “ There is interest. I know that Laurent is part of a shortlist of three or four players for both clubs.

The 27-year-old is under a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium, however, with four years remaining on his current deal. An £8.5m signing from Lorient in 2010, Koscielny has thus far played more than 100 games under Arsene Wenger.

Nevertheless, it is claimed by the Mirror that Koscielny has spoken of some discontent with life as a Gunner, pointing to the club’s lack of trophies in his time there, in a manner similar to the now-departed Robin van Persie and Bacary Sagna, the right-back who is wanted by wealthy pair Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.
