Verona midfielder Jorginho is the subject of interest from Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City, with the asking price being roughly £6m, according to the Daily
Both clubs have been impressed with the form that the 21-year-old has shown for Verona in Serie B, making 44 appearances last season. Though Arsenal were linked back in January, it now seems that two of their rivals are the front-runners to sign him. While both Chelsea and City are expected to vie for his signature, he is expected to be loaned back out somewhere on arrival.
This has been a technique enforced by Chelsea in recent years, with Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois recently rejoining Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan for the third consecutive year since joining from Genk in 2011. Fellow countryman Kevin de Bruyne has also been loaned out rather than being able to fight for a place in the Chelsea starting XI.
Man City’s new manager, Manuel Pelligrini has already signed Fernandinho and Jesus Navas, and has just overseen the sale of striker Carlos Tevez to Juventus. Jorginho, however, as with Chelsea, would be seen as one for the future.
