Chelsea defender David Luiz has become the latest transfer target for French outfit Paris Saint-Germain, according to The
The Brazilian centre-back is not thought to be high in new manager Jose Mourinho’s plans, and the Portuguese could look to offload the former Benfica stopper during the summer.
The deal could see Luiz pair up at club level with international defensive partner Thiago Silva, who is also keen to see Luiz arrive in order to forge a partnership that he hopes will ultimately benefit Brazil at next year’s World Cup.
Mourinho apparently remains unimpressed with Luiz either in midfield or defence, and views the 26-year-old as a “saleable asset”, which is a contrasting view to that of the Chelsea board who see the player as a future captain and would prefer he stayed at Stamford Bridge.
Luiz is rated at around £25m, and it is believed that Mourinho wants the sale to go ahead in order to aid his raid on former club Porto for Eliaquim Mangala, who he sees as a much more viable option in defence.
