Liverpool have had an offer in the region of €8m rejected by Sevilla for highly-rated left winger Luis Alberto, reports ESPN.
Monchi, Sevilla’s sporting director, looks to have confirmed that Liverpool are interested, but it appears that the club are holding out for a larger offer before allowing Alberto to leave, despite never having given him a competitive start in the Sevilla first-team. Monchi is expecting an improved offer from the Reds, and he is said to admit that Alberto is likely to move.
Alberto is the latest promising player to be linked with Liverpool, as manager Brendan Rodgers looks to ensure that his transfer business is done relatively quickly. He may be looking to add to the club’s current options in wide areas, and it seems as though Alberto has been identified as the most likely target.
